The last performance of Beatlejuice
Saturday at Davis Square's Johnny D's Restaurant & Music Club, the band Velvet Elvis, performed in the place of Beatlejuice, the band fronted by Brad Delp, who was found dead Friday. In addition to musicians who are in both bands, members of Beatlejuice took the stage to jam.
Before closing the show with the Beatles' "I Saw Her Standing There," Beatlejuice guitarist Dave Mitchell said, "Brad would always send one out to John Lennon, and then to George Harrison. Now that place of honor goes to our fallen brother, Brad Delp."
