The incumbent state senator for the Middlesex, Suffolk and Essex seat, Jarett T. Barrios, D, Cambridge, Friday submitted the the Secretary of the Commonwealth office his petition to appear on the ballot as the Democratic nominee for the 2006 election.
The senator was required to submit 300 signatures, but the Secretary of the Commonwealth's office does not accept more than 600 signatures, said Mark Puleo, a campaign spokesman.
The Barrios campaign kick-off is Wednesday at Assembly Square's Good Time Emporium.
